2026 Season | Week 13

The Squash. The Peppers. The Maters.

The first tomatoes of the season are finally here! The slicers need just a few more days to reach perfection, but they're looking fantastic. With a little sunshine and luck, next week we'll have the full lineup of our favorite summer fruit.

We're also racing the birds to harvest our elderberries. Shelly and Josalynn have generously volunteered to turn this year's crop into two delicious creations: our wellness Elderberry Syrup and a cocktail version that's perfect for happy hour. Keep an eye out for both in the coming weeks.

The garden isn't without its challenges. The dreaded squash vine borers have declared war on our squash patch, and we have to admit—they're winning this year. So enjoy this week's squash while you can, because there's a real chance they could be gone by next week.

On a happier note, the peppers are absolutely thriving. This is our first year growing them inside the high tunnel with a bottom-watering system, and the results have exceeded our expectations. The plants are loaded with peppers, and it looks like a bumper crop is headed your way.

Have a good week.
